Not as much storage space as the Linux version; same old Celeron CPU as original Eee PC; keyboard just as cramped.
The 9-inch Asus Eee PC 900 adds a bigger screen and a larger capacity solid-state hard drive than its 7-inch precursor, but the new price has passed the point of an impulse purchase.
Just as the original Eee PC started to feel a bit dated, Asus comes out with ...
The Asus Eee PC 900 is a very likeable ultraportable laptop. An updated version of the Eee PC 701, it boasts a larger 8.9-inch screen with a higher resolution, plus a multi-touch mouse trackpad. With the option of Windows or Linux, its improved storage gi...
Multi-touch mouse trackpad; 8.9-inch display; decent storage
Tiny keyboard; no integrated optical drive
The Asus Eee PC 900 is a likeable update to the Eee PC 701. We're disappointed its keyboard is still so difficult to use, but the addition of a larger, high-resolution screen, multi-touch mouse trackpad and better storage gives it the edge over just about...

Asus is aware that many people are unfamiliar with Linux, and has kindly introduced the Eee PC 900 Win to offer users the comfort of Windows XP on the Eee. Physically identical to the Linux model, it's also the first machine to support a multi-touch mouse...
Larger screen; multi-touch mouse trackpad works in Windows XP
Keyboard is fiddly to use; no 3G datacard
We can't really recommend the Windows version of the Eee PC 900 over its Linux counterpart, primarily because you get nearly twice as much storage space in the Linux version. If you really can't live without XP, then we recommend buying the superior Linux...

SSD is reliable and shock proof. 8.9" Screen is readable and only occasionally a little small. Nice, low weight. Nice and compact is great for backpacks.
Keyboard cramped. No bluetooth. Split 4 G C: drive and 8 G D: drive a hassle. Processor is not as nice as the hyperthreaded Atom, which has 3 speed steps and better power consumption/performance. Europeans got the shaft on the battery capacity.
My laptop needs require instant, easy access, not the added drama of weight and briefcases. Movies, DVD's, and other pleasures are ehjoyed via more appropriate devices. This machine fits that criterior.
Speed requires memory and that remains the major defiicit. The hefty pricetag considering the above, and absent minicam rounds out my cautionary approach.
It woujld be a great machine were if not for ...
Otherwise it's great.
The battery drains by about 10% per day even when switched off. This means that after about 9 days powered off, the battery will be empty. This makes this product almost not fit for use (you need a mains always nearby)
